The attendance at the Sunday meeting has always been higher. So its reasonable for the "Members only WT" to address the "ease" of preaching now to get them back in the "fields ripe for harvesting!" lol So now you see the sales meeting on Sunday here and there I suppose.

Today's WT study (10/12/14) - a sales seminar!

the wt study was always supposed to be for discussion of 'the deep truths' of the bible.
the wt may have always been filled with utter nonsense, but at least it had the appearance of a topical discussion of bible doctrine.

Do you suffer from WELTSCHMERZ?
by yadda yadda 2 indefinition of weltschmerz1: mental depression or apathy caused by comparison of the actual state of the world with an ideal state 2: a mood of sentimental sadness.
as a jw, horrific news and reports of terrible suffering and tragedy never especially shocked or disturbed me because of the conviction i had that it was all temporary suffering caused by satan and the demons and it was soon to end and be replaced by a wonderful new system where all those who suffered and died would be resurrected.
it took the edge off life's harshness.. these fantastical beliefs innoculated me against really feeling and empathisizing with the reality of the horror and suffering experienced by so many in this world.

Somewhere, somehow someone dropped an egg when they were going to make an omellette. I can't do anything about that so I refuse to cry about it. Now if I were there and could have caught it that might be different. So in this life we are able to effect things physically in about a two foot radius. We can join movements with others and work for change of course. The reality is we are too limited to take it all to heart. Survival is our prime directive. It sounds self absorbed but we cannot be anything else when it comes to our well being. Even your tears are for your benefit, they do nothing for others. Join a food bank and collect food for the homeless or get over this feeling of "compassion" attatched to non action. It is a bit hollow. I respect you yada, its just this is the reality that can be difficult to grasp. Too much crying and no action. That is what the JW's are all about, "let them, (the world) suffer" and feel little to nothing except verificaton that you are right and everyone else is wrong and wait for Jah to fix it. There is the abdication of responsibility. That brings greater guilt in my mind.

Do we know for sure what happens after death?
by Yondaime inchristian denominations say we go to heaven, witness say we stay alseep until ressurection.
quran says when we go we grt 72 virgins, unless we blow some people up.. .
i'm not really concerned with death atm, i'm not dead.

There is nothing about the human body that indicates further consciousness after death and decay of tissue. The brain constructs the mind which constructs the person. Switch off, no more you. So other than that its all desperation setting in and a cool fantasy to endure a lifelong entropic journey to our basic building blocks.

The GB has often pointed out how the actions of a few can cause a witness to many ie: the Children in india in the 90's who refused to sing the national anthem resulting in an article in the national newspaper about JW's. This seemed good enough for them that the "Kingdom was being preached to the inhabited earth." This event fulfilled the prophecy for the billions in Inda, well done kids!

Jehovah’s Witnesses, which had remained largely obscure in our country till recently.” Yes, ‘this good news of the kingdom will be preached for a witness to all the nations’ before the end comes.Nevermind that the literacy rate in India was barely 38% at the time. Morons.

Terminology the Society Hates?
by toweragent inin my most recent talk, i got counseled for using some terms that were not prefered.
for example i said "new testament" rather than "the christian greek scriptures".
i also used the term "gospel", but even worse, i made reference to the "synoptic gospels" and the "gnostic gospel".. i guess i never thought of it before, but when i looked at the societies information on the matter they always say things like, "the so-called new testament..." or "the so-called synoptic gospels..." why with all the "so-called?".

Seldom have I heard of people dating referred to as boyfriend and girlfriend. Its always, "they are dating so and so". Boyfriend/Girlfriend sounds like fornication happening right in front of them!

while cooking lunch he turns to me and says, i don't know anywhere in the bible that jesus would give dates about the end coming.

I think that many mates come to a realization of the sham of WT teaching because someone they love and respect has taken a stand. Their love for this other person is tangible and not a mind game. His love for you has made him receptive, he's been thinking for awhile now about who you have become, however subtle.
Dont know your story so I am sticking my neck out here. Keep up being honest and tactful. Lead the way by showing the love he seeks from you and Jesus. Oh God, I didn't mean to promote Jesus, sorry.

I'm with Magnum, I was shocked at some of the people appointed, not in comparison to me, in comparison to the "biblical"qualifications. Disgusting. It helped me to see the fact that the H. Spirit wasn't involved. If it was then God was an idiot.

I had a manuscript talk on the District Convention (as it was called then) and six months later was the reader of the WT that was basically that manuscript talk as a study article. I didn't even have to read it I had it down pat. What a joke.
